I Love Christmas!

Christmas was great! We woke up in our own beds and were pretty much snowed in. I went for a jog through the deep Rexburg snow... it was really awesome. Terry had to come pick us up for the Christmas party because we couldn't get out of our parking lot! We had good food and played scum. I hope everyone's Christmas was as good as ours was. Happy New Years! Mar, Jar, and Brod

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Yeah, it is really looking like Christmas now...
with all the snow that is dumping on Rexburg. Pretty cool (no, really, cold actually).
Jared is done with finals and he did
so well this semester with his classes...
we are all very proud. Only two more
semesters to go! We have our tiny
ghetto tree up and a few presents hidden
from Brody... We plan to be here Christmas morning. Our first Christmas not at someone
elses house. We will go see Grandma and
Grandpa Wells and the Lights on temple
square before christmas and then go to the
cabin, hopefully, with all the Chaffins for
New Year's Eve. We'll see if the weather
permits. Anyway, we miss you all...
hope you have a great holiday season,
Love,.... Mary, Jared, and Brody

Thanksgiving was so much fun...

We're back in Rexburg now but we spent a whole week in Utah at Grandma and Grandpa Wells's. It was really great to see almost the whole family there. It was a full house... utter chaos but so like it used to be. We all got colds, of course, and ate too much pie, etc. We stayed up way too late playing games, talking, and laughing (so worth being tired). The last night there Deb helped us figure out our webcam so we can stay in touch better now with everyone. Anyhoo, Jared's finals are coming soon and then it will be Christmas! We just bought our first fake tree (4 feet tall) and decorated it last night with the ghetto fabulous ornaments we have accumulated hand-me-down. It looks really tacky... I love it. Well, I will put some more pictures on soon.. Love you all, Mar, Jar, and Brod

It's almost Halloween!

I love this time of year. Brody and I have decorated our apartment for Halloween already. We have jackolantern and bats in all the windows and lights up around the door. It's awesome. I don't know yet what we will be for halloween but it has to be something really good and I am open for suggestions. Anyway, Jared is so busy in school right now that we don't see him much so maybe he should be a ghost for halloween. just kidding. Well, Love you all, Mar, Jar, and Brod

Back in Rexburg!

So, I haven't blogged lately... sorry. It's been really busy lately. We are back at school finally and Jared has finished his first week of school. We are loving the weather here, it gets cool in the evenings and only up to about 70 during the day which is quite a change from Arizona. Brody loves playing outside with all the little cars and bikes that people leave out for community use and the playground that is just his size. It's really great to be able to go right outside our door and have kids for him to play with and grass to run on. Everything is getting back to normal with my health after the misscarriage and the only hard thing is seeing all my old friends that are pregnant. It seems like everyone is pregnant here! It makes me anxious to try again but because of how far along I was, I don't think that would be wise... We'll see what the doctor says when I can get an appointment. Anyhoo, I'm glad we're back. Jared and I just got called to the activitees committee in our ward and I think I am more excited about it than he is. It could be fun,... I guess that's all the news for now... I'll keep you posted, talk to you all later, Mary, Jared, and Brody

Fun in San Diego

We had a great time in Sandiego last weekend. We stayed in San Marcos which is right next to Vista. We went to see the house and took some pictures. We will post all those soon. First, we went to the Clydesdale breeding farm and saw all the new babies. It was so cool, Jerry (Jareds 2nd cousin, I guess) works with them and he got us free tickets to Sea World. The first night we walked on the Oceanside Pier and ate at Rubys on the pier which was fun. The next day was the 4th and we went to the beach, along with everyone else and their mother!... it was packed . Brody loved the ocean and the sand... which he got everywhere, including mom's hair. He liked the reactions it got when he started throwing it at both his parents. We decided after about and hour that it was too cold and too crowded so we drove to Coronado Island and sight saw for a while then we decided to walk through the air craft carrier, Midway which is docked in SanDiego Bay. That was really cool to go through all the tunnels and living quarters and see all the aircraft on the deck. Jared especially loved it. That night we went back to the beach to watch the fireworks at the Oceanside pier. We got a great spot and waited for an hour and then boom.. the first one went off.... nothing. we couldn't see anything so we drove home. It was a real let down. On Saturday we drove to Sea World. We stopped at the temple on the way down but it was closed for maintenance so we took a few pictures and went to sea world. That was really.... expensive. I thought since the tickets were free we would be saving money... The problem is, that's not where they make their money... It cost $8 for a hotdog and a bag of chips. We had fun aside from the expensive food. We saw the dolphins and the whales and rode the skyride. Brody especially loved the Elmo ride and the splashpark. We got to see fireworks that night and were exhausted from all the walking that night. We drove home on sunday morning after sacrament meeting and one more trip to walk on the beach where Jared proposed. It was fun. Anyhoo, I will post the pictures a.s.a.p. Well, gotta run, Brody is tearing apart the computer lab,... Love ya, Mary and Brody

Happy News from Hell

Sorry about the title, but that is really accurate right now. Thing is, it's probably colder in hell. Anyhoo, we have great news... we are pregnant again! A few of you already know this because, if I've talked to you recently, I told you because I can't keep secrets. It was never really a secret but... whatever. This means I will be due Febuary 15th, the day after Valentines Day... how romantic... Anyway we miss everyone here and we are really ready to see some of you soon. We are escaping on the 4th of July weekend to SanDiego because it is only 5 hours away and we are getting free tickets to Sea World from Mom Chaffins cousin(?) who works with the big horses there. That will be awesome. Brody has never seen the ocean so we are excited. Well, gotta go... Brody is restless and we are in the apartment computer lab... so, love you guys,... Mary, Jared, and Brody

Exploring Arizona

Hey everyone, sorry we haven't blogged lately. Long story short, we don't have the internet so we have to use other people's. We like it here. It is definately hot and there are cacti everywhere. Anyhoo, Jared loves his job, Brody loves the pool, and I will blog more later, Love ya, Mary... and the boys.

We are packing up everything for the move!

It's really important to get your priorities straight when you become a parent so we packed Brody first.
He didn't seem to mind being zipped into this duffel bag.

He didn't want to get out for his bath.

We're going to Phoenix, AZ!!!!!!!!

So we finally got an offer from the company Jared wanted to intern with this summer. Kiewit Construction offered us a spot in Phoenix, AZ for the summer. We are really excited about moving somewhere new and having a great experience. We have been looking the last two weeks for an apartment and it has been a bit overwhelming. Then today Jared was talking to another of the BYU-I students going down to AZ and they told us about a great apartment they just found and it looks like it will work out great for all of our families to live there at the same complex (Phew!). I'm glad that worked out because I was really stressed out. Anyhoo, we only have about a month till we are moving so there is a lot to do. Well, gotta run. Love, Mary, Jared, and Brody

Snow Removal is Fun when you are watching

O.K., so we finally made it up to the cabin to stay overnight with some of the Chaffins. We really went up to clear off snow because the bishop who lives next door was worried about how much was accumulating. I had fun watching Jared, Marc, Dad, Jennifer, and Mom clear snow while I sat in the car with the kids. It took them about six hours to clear most of the snow off the cabin and then four hours the next day to clear maybe half the snow off the shed. It was unbelievable how much snow there was. Mom was worried about the windows getting broken in by the drifts so she got busy clearing around those and putting boards up. It was a lot of work but I think they all had fun too. We played cards and pulled the kids around on their sleds. We watched a dumb movie on the old tv upstairs and Mom put elvis cds in the dvd player and danced with the kids. It was great. On the way home we got stopped on the flats about a mile from the cabin where a semi had been taken out by a snow plow and went off the road. The front of the semi was crunched in half and it took a while to get it off the road so Marc, Jen, and Jared got out of the cars and slid around on the sheet ice. We stopped at Big Juds on the way home and it was just as greasy as I remembered. All in all it was a memorable trip. We hope to do it again soon with all the Chaffins (and Caywoods and Corbetts) and without all the work. Love you guys, Mary, Jared, and Brody

Hey All...

Hello everyone, we didn't get to the cabin in Island Park last weekend as planned and Jared has been moping around the house all week. Hopefully those that live around here can all go up this weekend, eh? Unless the weather is like it was last weekend. There is so much snow that the school and the city can't quite keep up and we get stuck in our parking lot daily. Anyhoo, we are still looking for an internship this summer and it is getting really stressful. The school pretty much lets the students find there own internships and, so far, we have not had any interviews with perspective employers. Maybe if everyone prays for us we will find something soon! I guess that's all there is to report... not a whole lot is going on lately... Love you all, Mary, Jared, and Brody

We're still Alive, Despite being Frozen!

O.K., So we haven't been very bloggy this month but it's hard when you don't have any good pictures! We still don't have a digital camera so it's sorta hard to post anything interesting. Anyhoo, I will try to keep you all updated without the fun photos. So, here's the news: We still haven't found out where the heck we're going this summer for the internship! so Jared is just going to classes and Brody and I are posting his resume like crazy at any potential internships that pop up on the school website. Jared always comes home and asks "Where did I apply to today?" He knows I can't just sit by and wait for the career fair. I am a bit obsessive about it, I admit. We will probably know by Febuary where we are going so that will be good,.. Except then I won't have anything to do.
It has been a hard month for my side of the family and that's probably why I haven't blogged much. It's so much easier to share good news than blah news. My brother's daughter, Whitney, is making progress at primary childrens hospital but slow progress. I will see if I can post the care site so you can all hear updates from the horses mouth, if you are interested. He explains how she's doing very clearly for us non-medical types. We just got some bad news about my fathers Leukimia. It seems that it has taken a bad turn and he, most likely, will only be able to have one more round of chemo therapy. This is also explained better by my brother on the care site. Then Beth got evicted from her apartment yesterday. We are all so mad about it. She had the best roommates and they were so helpful to her with her anxiety. I told you this months been a downer. I am sorry there is nothing really interesting to report except that I am becoming an expert on writing reports on Construction. Ha, Ha, Ha.... Anyway, we miss you all... come visit us!... Love,.. Jared, Mary, and Brody

Happy New Year!!!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. We had a rollercoaster of a holliday. It was really fun to be at Grandma and Grandpa Chaffins for Christmas and spend New Years Eve with the Chadwicks at their new house in Rexburg. We ate alot of good food (burp!) and spent time with family which was awesome. The hard part of this holiday has been the car accident Edwin's family was in. We've been thinking about them non stop with little Whitney in a coma at Primary Childrens Hospital. We hope she continues to improve and will keep praying for her and the whole family. Along with that really hard thing, Brody got sick with a really high fever that lasted about a week so we were pretty preoccupied after Christmas. I wish the whole extended Wells family could be together through this ordeal with Whitney but it isn't possible so we just wait for updates from my mom. Rexburg is empty at the moment except the local population and those that are in town for the Rexburg Temple Open House which we are going to on Friday. I am excited about that because I have never been to an Open House before. Anyway,.. it's 2008.. I'll probably forget and keep writing 2007. Love you all, Mary, Jared, and Brody
P.S. We wish we were going to Texas with everyone this month... stupid school!
